"Last year I volunteered at a few training sessions for the Fleet Feet triathlon training groups. I also helped out at Racin' the Station Duathlon as well as the Pesky Pirahna. I completed 7 triathlon/duathlons and cheered others on as I raced as well as after I was done." - Rebecca
Short Term Goals
I want to really concentrate on swimming this year. I really need to get a little faster in the water. I also would really love to improve my time at Rocket Man. Last year was my fist Olympic distance Triathlon and I think that I can do better. I would also really like to place in my age group in most of my tri's this year.
Long Term Goals
I would really like to complete an Iron Man one day. I do not currently have the time to train for one, but I plan too once my children are a little older and more self-sufficient.
Essentials in my diet?
I am a mother of three who loves to compete in triathlons. I completed my first triathlon when my oldest was less than a year and I haven't looked back. I love to see others competing as well and I've managed to get my oldest daughter hooked at the age of 7.
I did not have active parents when I was a child so I'm excited to be an example for her. I hope that my children will see physical activity as an integral part of their life rather than an option. I really enjoy seeing other children participating in races. I am sure to always cheer them on, if I have any breath left.
Besides triathlons, I love soccer and running. I run whenever I can and frequently succumb to peer pressure. My friends know that they could almost always convince me to run with them. All they have to do is ask. My running has really helped my stamina on the soccer field. I play on a women's team and enjoy every minute. I also coach my daughter's soccer team through AYSO. I love to see the girls I coach grow and learn to love the game.
