I am from Athens, AL and started running and exercising in February 2009. I started out running to just get in shape and to shed a few pounds. In May 2010 I ran my first 5K race and was hooked on racing. I had a goal of one day doing a sprint triathlon and in 2011 I did "Wet Dog Triathlon". After the swim portion of the race I was hooked on triathlons. The next year I raced in several triathlons and completed the first olympic distance race "Rocketman". In 2013 I raced all the races in the Southeast Triathlon Championship Series and I did my first off-road triathlon "Tri for Ole Glory". When I'm not training or racing I enjoy being outside hunting or fishing.
Short Term Goals
Try to make the age group podium in the races I compete in.
Keep the training and racing fun. At times I get caught up in the numbers and I need to remind myself “I started this because it was enjoyable”.
Compete in as many local multi sport events as I’m able to.
Volunteer and help out as much as possible.
Long Term Goals
Stay healthy and continue living an active lifestyle.
Complete another 70.3 race sometime in the future.
Encourage people to challenge themselves and step out of their comfort zone once in a while.
Volunteer more and help out whenever possible.
